LEGOLAND Germany in Günzburg is more than just a theme park—it’s a celebration of creativity, imagination, and family-friendly fun.

Getting to LEGOLAND Germany

Traveling to LEGOLAND Germany is straightforward, especially if you’re coming from Munich or Stuttgart, the closest major cities with international airports. Many visitors opt to take the train from Munich to Günzburg, a journey that takes about an hour with just two stops or three stops depending, there are also slower trains 1hr 47mins for cheaper prices.
Train and Taxi Tips:
- Book train tickets online (e.g., through train line) for under £20 per person round trip.
- Upon arrival at Günzburg station, you’ll find taxis ready to take you to LEGOLAND for about €22 for a family of four
- Alternatively, take advantage of a shuttle bus service connecting the station to the park. Check if your train ticket specifies “LEGOLAND Park” or “LEGOLAND Feriendorf” as this often includes the bus transfer. Although our train ticket didn’t state that, we took the shuttle bus and the bus driver ushered us in without paying, but one of the staff members did say it can cost upto €3 per person.
Where to Stay Nearby
We had stayed at LEGOLAND FOREST LODGE and the LEGOLAND Holiday Village offers themed accommodations ranging from pirate cabins to castle suites.

Inside the Park: Rides, Attractions, and Experiences
You’ll notice a mix of familiar rides seen at other LEGOLAND parks and unique attractions that set this park apart.

Must-Try Rides:
- PowerBuilder: Customize your ride’s intensity—from gentle spins to a full-blown thrill.
- Maximus – Guardians’ Flight: A standout rollercoaster perfect for adrenaline lovers.
- Don’t miss the LEGO Factory tour, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at how LEGO bricks are made. Visitors receive a freshly molded brick as a keepsake—a perfect souvenir for LEGO fans, we collected the Halloween one.
Don’t bother rides
Legoland express train – we had queued for 40 minutes to see alot of boarded up views, bush and trees and it just seemed to went around Mini land
Pedal a car – we had queued 60 minutes and the view was ok but the ride wasn’t smooth at all and apparently no taking pictures or video allowed
For Younger Visitors:
The playgrounds at LEGOLAND are always a hit with kids, offering plenty of space to climb, explore, and burn off energy. Other attractions, like the Driving School, allow children to learn and have fun simultaneously. Be sure to book spots for the Driving School at the entrance of the ride upon arrival, as it fills up quickly, this is extra cost of €5 per child, and requirement that the children are able to read and speak English if they do not know German.
Dining Options

Food at LEGOLAND Germany, like many theme parks, can be pricey, there are quite a few places to dine with English menu. Simple snacks like nuggets and fries are available throughout the park and are tasty enough to keep you energizer, we had bratwurst (hotdog) for €5, which was a decent size for all. For a full meal, consider leaving the park to explore nearby dining options or packing your own snacks if possible.
Using the LEGOLAND App
The official LEGOLAND app is your best friend for navigating the park. It provides real-time updates on ride wait times, an interactive map, and essential details like restroom locations and dining options. You can also use it to check ride height requirements and find attractions suitable for your kids. There are attractions such as gold panning, which are extra to pay I think we had paid €8 per child, cash only. Other fair ground prizes only accepted cash as well
What Makes LEGOLAND Germany Unique
After visiting LEGOLAND parks in Billund and Windsor, some rides are familiar, others bring innovative twists, ensuring every LEGOLAND has its own charm.
Another highlight is the new Peppa Pig Park, located just outside the main entrance.
Additional Tips for a Smooth Visit
- Arrive early to avoid crowds and long wait times, especially for popular rides.
- Dress appropriately, as weather in Bavaria can be unpredictable. Comfortable shoes are a must for walking and the long queues.
