We had been invited to walk the most beautiful winter light trails London. Here is our round up
Syon Enchanted Woodland, Syon Park, London Rd, Brentford, Middlesex,TW8 8JF
Parking is free but limited, Public transport is available, nearest station is Boston Manor, does require a bit of walking to get there.
Entrance was easy to find, walking in to the box office, there are some food and drinks to purchase, toilets are nearby.
The trail took us about hour to walk enjoying the scenic view. The displays shown are quite space like. There are many interactive displays for children to participate, which was fantastic from colourful keyboard on the floor to walk across, to making shadows.
There was a light show on the classic Syon building which was interesting for adults to watch the history, it was a little too long as the kids started to wander off.
The end of the trail lacked a little bit, as there was no big finale to have let you known that it was the end, which felt like it could have done something a little extra.
Overall, the pricing is affordable, and given it was our first time walking here, we were pleasantly surprised. Only here until November.
Lightopia – A Christmas Fantasy
Crystal Palace Park, Canada Gate, Anerley Hill, London SE19 2BA
Parking is free but limited, and best to book the form in advance. Public transport is available, nearest station is Crystal Palace 6 min walk to Canada Gate.
Entrance was very easy to find, entrance had the fun fair rides at the beginning.
They had new Clangers installation and you get to meet Clangers on the opening night. Our favourite area was Wonders of the Dragon and the Water show was spectacular. The display are pretty throughout the trail, however there was only one area that the boys had interacted with. Overall the walk took us about over an hour as there were many illuminated displays to look at.
The pricing for a family of four is £75, personally a little bit expensive but you are able to shop a good deal on wowcher.
Kew Garden – Christmas at Kew
Richmond Victoria Gate (TW9 3JR)
Parking cost £7 per day, extremely limited. Public transport is available Kew Garden station and a short walk to Victoria Gate.
Entrance was very simple to get to, when you walk in, there were many food and drinks stalls, don’t worry as throughout the trail, there were many food and drinks stall dotted throughout, even a KERB market which I love a bit of everything for everyone.
The display in Kew was breath-taking, my personal favourite display was Liquid Sky by Definitive Special Projects. All the displays were immersive from Starry nights by ArtAV to Floraison where luminous poppies were blooming over your head.
The displays aren’t as kid friendly interactive but there is a vintage fairground and a chance to meet Santa. We loved this trail, a very easy path to walk and extremely enjoyable that if you were to spend £85 for a family of four, this one we definitely recommend it, especially at the end their water wonderland display is always a great showstopper.
